Social Worker in Elderly Care

Do you want to help create elderly care where the individual’s needs are at the center and where collaboration and quality go hand in hand? We are now looking for two dedicated social workers for our authority department – previously known as assistance administrators.

The authority department for individual and family care consists of about 35 employees and is responsible for authority exercise in the areas of children and youth, LSS, social psychiatry, financial assistance, harmful use – and dependence, domestic violence, elderly care, and contractors.

The unit is organized into three groups; Children and Youth/Foster Care, Care/LSS, and Adults. Each group has a lead social worker who provides close support in daily work.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a social worker in care, you will investigate, assess, make decisions, and follow up on interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL). At the center of your work is always the individual’s needs, with the goal of creating security, participation, and the right support at the right time.

You will work both independently and together with colleagues in a team, where collaboration is a central part of the assignment. You will have regular contact and cooperation with both internal providers and external actors such as healthcare, relatives, and other areas of operation.

An important part of the role is to be a support and guide for users and their relatives, where you meet people in different life situations with respect, attentiveness, and a professional approach.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a degree in social work or another equivalent higher education that is deemed relevant.
• Has good knowledge of SoL and preferably experience in handling elderly care or another area within the authority exercise of social services.
• Is confident in making decisions, structuring your work, and documenting in a legally secure manner.
• Has good collaboration skills and is attentive in meeting people.

You are accustomed to working in a daily environment that can change quickly and maintain a professional approach even in challenging situations. It is an advantage if you have training in IBIC and previous experience with the operational system Combine.
