About the operation

The Employment and Integration Unit in Mellerud Municipality owns this initiative, which is financed by the coordination association, a shared coordination effort between Mellerud Municipality and Färgelanda Municipality.

In the unit, we have 16 employees who handle cases related to financial assistance, estates, budget and debt counseling, housing social contracts, integration, and labor market measures. We have a collaboration agreement with all five municipalities in Dalsland regarding budget and debt counseling as well as estate administration. The unit receives applications, conducts investigations, assessments, and makes decisions regarding potential assistance. The unit's mission is to collaborate with other actors to create conditions for individuals to enter the labor market. This can be through internships, work training, and work with wage support to eventually become self-sufficient. Job responsibilities
The rehabilitation counselor works based on a team-oriented approach and coordinates the process of work-oriented rehabilitation based on each person's individual needs. We work with a clear employment line to increase the opportunity for our individuals to achieve the goal of self-sufficiency through work or studies, and we are clearly influenced by BIP research. The rehabilitation counselor collaborates with both professional and private networks around the individual and supports, motivates, and equips individuals by clarifying work conditions and planning and implementing interventions together with the individual and other actors to achieve progress. The rehabilitation counselor documents the process, resulting in a final report that is continuously handed over to the individual and referring caseworker. Being active in employer work to match an individual to the right work training place is a significant part of the rehabilitation counselor's daily life. As a rehabilitation counselor, you also serve as a support for employers and should contribute knowledge and understanding regarding employment. Leading group activities together with colleagues may be necessary as needed. Travel is common.

The assignment is full-time and temporary until 31/12 2026, with a possibility of extension. Start date by agreement.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in social or educational fields. You need to have good knowledge of other authorities' work with rehabilitation and feel confident working with individuals with various functional variations. Knowledge of the labor market in our area is important, as is experience in contacting employers to assist individuals in obtaining work trials, training, and internship placements. Experience in work-oriented rehabilitation collaboration is an advantage. A driver's license (B) is required.

You should be able to work based on a team-oriented approach and coordinate the process of work-oriented rehabilitation for individuals based on their individual needs. You recognize the importance of collaborating with both professional and private networks around the individual and supporting and equipping individuals by clarifying work conditions and planning and implementing interventions together with the individual. You actively work to motivate and support individuals in their process and map out, provide guidance, and coordinate the contacts and interventions needed to achieve progress.

In the assignment, you also need to:

  • Have good knowledge of documentation of processes.
  • Be able to lead group activities individually and together with colleagues.
  • Be active in employer work to match an individual to the right work training place.
  • Be a support for the employer and contribute knowledge and understanding regarding employment.

The assignment requires flexibility in finding individual solutions for individuals who have often been in exclusion for a long time and who have a complex life situation. You should be able to act on your initiative and work both in teams and independently, as well as have good communication skills, a systematic approach, and good planning abilities.
