Welcome to become a part of our growing municipality - and to work with us to provide our residents with even better service.
We offer an attractive workplace that provides you with great opportunities to develop in your professional role. Our goal is for everyone to thrive and grow - throughout their entire career. We also want to develop as an employer and actively work to make the best use of your knowledge and engagement. We appreciate and encourage co-creation from everyone.

We hope you will thrive with us!
About the job
Do you want to make a difference for children and young people in Uddevalla? We are now looking for an engaged family therapist for our school social team, which operates in collaboration between Social Services and the Department of Education.
The team works together to develop preventive work with students and their families.
As a family therapist in Uddevalla's school social team, you will work alongside other family therapists, special educators, social educators, and coordinators. The team targets students in grades F–9 and their families, focusing on promoting school attendance, ensuring safe upbringing conditions, and strengthening protective factors around children and young people.
Job Responsibilities
Together with colleagues in the school social team and in close collaboration with the municipality's primary schools, you will work with students with repeated or long-term school absence or other school-related difficulties that affect goal fulfillment. The goal is for the child/youth to eventually leave primary school with eligibility for high school. The work involves:
- Providing support and treatment to students and their families, both at home and at school.
- Working closely with school staff, student health, social services, and other actors to create coordinated efforts.
- Participating in mapping, establishing action plans, and coordinating efforts around the student.
- Holding individual conversations with students and guardians.
- Being a link to the municipality's other efforts and contributing to method development within early interventions.
As part of the school social team, you will work to create sustainable and safe relationships, thereby strengthening protective factors and minimizing risk factors.
Who are we looking for?
- We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference and be part of developing early intervention efforts.
- Experience in treatment work with children, youth, and families, preferably from a systemic theoretical approach.
- You are structured, demonstrating this by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work effectively.
- Used to working both independently and in a team, and have good collaboration skills.
We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role, easily builds relationships, and can adapt their working method to different needs. You enjoy working intensively and salutogenically, in the student's and family's natural environment, such as at home and at school. Personal qualities are highly valued. The work may involve evening shifts as needed.
Qualifications
- We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or trained as a social educator at an academic level or other education and experience deemed suitable by the employer.
Experience in working in schools and/or social services is an advantage. Preferably motivational and family-supportive work as well as collaboration between school and social services.
Other
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis during the recruitment period. Welcome with your application!
