Job Responsibilities
Brunstorps By 10 is a residential facility with special services under LSS.
The residence consists of two units in the same building, housing 7 + 6 tenants. Our residents are adults with acquired brain injuries caused by external violence or physical illness.
As a support pedagogue with us, you will play a key role in developing the educational work within the organization. You will drive, inspire, and guide both colleagues and residents towards a common goal – that everyone can live a good and independent life on their own terms. You will work across both units.
In this role, you are responsible for gathering, disseminating, and developing knowledge about working methods and approaches. Together with the workgroup, you will plan, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and activities that lead to high quality and a professional approach.
You have an important function in ensuring that social documentation and implementation plans are established, followed up, and developed according to applicable laws and guidelines. As a support pedagogue, you are a support for both employees and management – you mentor, inspire, and actively contribute to the quality and improvement work of the organization.
You collaborate closely with the unit manager, colleagues, relatives, guardians, and other key individuals to ensure that each resident receives the support and care they need. You are also part of a network of other pedagogues where you collectively drive development and share experiences.
The residential facility with special services offers support around the clock, and working hours are therefore scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed. We use Time Care Planning, which allows for adaptable and influenceable schedules.
Qualifications
For the position of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities is required, encompassing at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
Communication and documentation are important parts of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the testing provider Educateit.
You have solid knowledge and experience in low-arousal approaches, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), clear pedagogy, and working methods that promote an independent life with the individual's needs at the center. You also have experience with motivational interviewing and have previously worked as a support pedagogue.
You communicate in a clear and structured manner, both verbally and in writing, and adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation to create understanding and engagement. Your approach is characterized by attentiveness, empathy, and respect, where you recognize others' needs, feelings, and perspectives.
In collaboration with others, you contribute with an open and professional attitude through active listening and genuine engagement. You work independently and purposefully, with a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work.
Other
Selection and interviews will begin during the application period.
In this recruitment, you will be asked to answer a number of questions where you describe your knowledge in the field instead of submitting a personal letter.
