The role of support assistant/support worker with us

You provide our residents with support in all aspects of daily life and assist the individual in their social life. We work based on low-arousal responses, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), or clarifying pedagogy for those who need it, as well as IBIC (Individual Needs in Center). Documentation is an important part of the job. You assist users with practical tasks, care, and hygiene. A significant part of the job is to support users with their leisure interests, both inside and outside the residence. Motivational work to help them manage their daily lives independently is an important part of the work.

In your work, you will have both internal and external contacts with various actors in the users' lives, such as guardians, daily activities, relatives, and healthcare professionals. You need to work methodically, which means you should be structured and have the ability to organize and plan your work based on the individual's and the organization's needs. There are method developers to guide staff on issues related to the user and the organization, as well as to ensure that the work we do maintains high quality according to current legislation.

As a person, you are accommodating and attentive to your surroundings. You have the ability to organize and plan your work and create a pleasant environment around you. You have a positive outlook and find it easy to work in a team, as collaboration is a key factor. We wish that you, wonderful colleagues, come to work with energy and a strong desire for engagement. You take responsibility and drive your work forward, delivering results and prioritizing your work effectively. You express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, as this is required in daily work. Personal suitability will be given great importance.

We are looking for someone who:

• has a high school education aimed at working with people, support assistant training, or other equivalent education relevant to the target group

It is meritorious:

• if you have experience working with the target group
• with further education in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and/or LAB (low-arousal responses)
• if you have experience working with autism

Gåsevadholm group home is located near Fjärås center. Gåsevadholm group home is a traditional group home with 6 apartments. The residence applies low-arousal responses, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and clarifying pedagogy for those who need it. We work based on IBIC (Individual Needs in Center).

Within the Department of Individual & Family Care, all employees within Supported Housing and Home Support are employed full-time but have the opportunity to reduce their desired employment level based on the needs of the organization.
