Do you want to drive development projects that actually happen?
We are looking for a project manager in housing development who takes responsibility from start to finish and enjoys turning plans into concrete results. In Bergs Municipality, you will work closely with decision-makers, entrepreneurs, builders, and residents – and be the one who ensures that housing development truly moves forward. Here, you will have significant authority, varied assignments, and a workday where you lead complex processes towards clear deliveries.
Job Responsibilities
In the role of project manager in housing development, you will be responsible for driving the municipality's work to create more housing and attractive living environments throughout Bergs Municipality. The assignment is broad and implementation-oriented, and you will work practically to identify opportunities, coordinate actors, and bring projects to completion. You will enable increased immigration and establishment by creating conditions for new housing and commercial premises while identifying and investigating land that is interesting for residents and businesses. You will keep the municipality's housing development processes together and coordinate work between various departments, political decision-making levels, and external parties. This involves close collaboration with, among others, Bergs Hyreshus, private builders, property owners, authorities, and various local actors. The work is complex and requires you to both lead collaboration and take clear responsibility for ensuring that projects move forward.
As a project manager, you will drive initiatives from idea to implementation, follow up on timelines and results, and manage any obstacles that may arise along the way. The role also allows for the development of new and improved working methods for the municipality's housing and property supply, where your experiences and initiatives will have a significant impact. This is a position for you who want to work closely with many actors, make a real impact, and see concrete results from your work in the municipality's various rural areas.
Qualifications
To succeed in the role, we see that you have a relevant academic education, for example, in urban planning, civil engineering, project management, surveying, property development, or a related field. Alternatively, you have gained equivalent competence through long and qualified professional experience. You have experience leading complex projects and are used to coordinating many actors, timelines, and processes simultaneously. We would like you to have experience or a good understanding of how the public sector operates, especially regarding decision-making processes, legislation, and collaboration. It is an advantage if you have previously worked on issues related to housing development, land and exploitation, urban planning, or other development processes involving many external parties. You need to have a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and feel confident representing the municipality in meetings, dialogues, and collaborations. The role also requires that you have a B driver's license, as the assignment involves travel within the municipality.
Personal Qualities
You thrive on driving processes all the way to completion and gain energy from turning ideas into concrete action. You take responsibility when a project needs clear guidance and progress. You see challenges as an opportunity to develop, and you approach new tasks with curiosity and focus – even when circumstances change, you maintain direction and prioritize wisely. You build trusting relationships, listen to different perspectives, and find common paths forward. You are solution-oriented and pragmatic; you do not get stuck in details or unnecessarily long investigations. Instead, you work in a structured, professional, and goal-oriented manner to create order and conditions for results. You have a communicative style that creates clarity, and you contribute to progress and stability even in complex and changing project environments.
We Offer
With us, you will be part of a municipality characterized by closeness, collaboration, and a genuine drive to develop. We offer flexible working conditions, opportunities for professional development, and a workplace with a strong sense of shared responsibility. Bergs Municipality also offers a unique living environment with proximity to mountains, nature, and a rich community life. Here, there is room for both job satisfaction and quality of life, whether you are looking for tranquility, outdoor life, or an active local community.
