Are you a statistician, interested in social development and want to contribute to improving Swedish growth policy? Welcome to us! The Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis has the task of evaluating and analyzing the effects of the state's efforts for sustainable national and regional growth. We also provide the basis and recommendations for the development, reassessment, and streamlining of policies. We will particularly focus on the combined effects of growth and business policy measures. Three words that guide what we do are integrity, quality, and relevance. We are located in Östersund (head office) and Stockholm. From January 1, 2027, a new Growth Authority will be formed as Transport Analysis is incorporated into the Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis. Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a Statistician for the Department of Business Development and Regional Economy (FORE). The Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis is the responsible authority for statistics and is responsible for the statistical areas of business demographics and international companies. You will be responsible for the statistical area of business demographics. You will work with the production of official statistics, management and development of the statistics portal, quality work, and dialogue with our external stakeholders. You will contribute to the work with in-depth statistical news and in communication work. You may participate in analysis and evaluation projects as needed. You will have dialogue with the Government Offices, other authorities, researchers, and business organizations.

The department is also responsible for the agency's statistical databases. A microdatabase with data on individuals and companies, a database with data for public support to the business sector, and a database with data on public and private venture capital. You will participate in the development work of our databases.

The department also conducts analyses and evaluations of the state's role and efforts in investments, entrepreneurship, framework conditions, skills supply, capital supply, regional economy, infrastructure, and energy issues. We also conduct impact evaluations of political measures. Examples of areas recently studied include business capital supply, knowledge-intensive investments, sector-specific tax relief, foreign direct investments, agglomeration economies, and regional transformation.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree with a relevant focus and at least 60 higher education credits in statistics or mathematical statistics
• Experience in producing official statistics
• Documented experience working with large data sets
• Knowledge of relevant programming languages, such as SQL, STATA, R
• Experience in analysis and investigative work

It is an advantage if you have:

• Documented experience in database administration
• Good ability to present statistical material pedagogically, orally and in writing, in Swedish and English
• Experience programming in Python
• Knowledge of the department's areas of responsibility
• Work experience from public administration
• Experience working with APIs
