A Job That Counts!

With us, you contribute to a well-functioning society for the public and businesses.

Our newly established unit needs to grow with additional lawyers to work with qualified legal issues in various areas of law.

About the Job

In the unit, we work with a simplified court procedure, where we, instead of the court, decide on cases regarding payment orders and assistance. We also work with the enforceability review of judgments and decisions, as well as processing cases related to corrections, blocking, and deletion of data in the authority's operational databases.

Your workday is varied. You will work in several different areas of law; including procedural law, property and tenancy law, contract law, consumer law, family law, corporate law, and enforcement law. You will handle cases of special assistance, conduct legal investigations, and write statements to courts and other authorities. The work involves many external contacts, both in writing and by phone. Additionally, you will provide legal support to case handlers in several units within the department. This means that, in a coaching role, you need to be prepared to quickly handle and respond to various types of questions.

Everyone working at the Swedish Enforcement Authority contributes to the fight against crime. Your tasks include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity and notifying other authorities about suspected crimes. As a lawyer, you can, for example, counteract fictitious claims in applications for payment orders and thereby prevent welfare crimes from being committed.

Possible locations for the position may include Luleå, Umeå, Östersund, Gävle, Uddevalla, and Visby. Currently, this is where the unit's lawyers and enforcement officers are located.

About You

As an employee at the Swedish Enforcement Authority, you are expected to live up to our employee policy (https://www.kronofogden.se/jobba-hos-oss/medarbetarpolicy). You take initiative, are engaged, and take responsibility for achieving goals. You contribute to the development of the organization and help your colleagues succeed. You treat others with respect, kindness, and actively listen to others while showing a positive attitude.

You work result-oriented, demonstrate decisiveness, and focus on what needs to be achieved. You are stable, have high integrity, and are trustworthy when meeting people in vulnerable situations. You communicate easily and act in a trustworthy and pedagogical manner when interacting with clients. You have an analytical ability that allows you to see connections and find the most effective solution. You adapt to the conditions and changes that occur.

Your Qualifications:

  • degree from the law program with at least 270 credits (180 points according to the old system)
  • notarial qualification

It is desirable that you have current work experience in legal advice or relevant work experience from an authority.

About Us

The Swedish Enforcement Authority is a government agency with an important mission. We work closely with people in vulnerable situations. We help those who have not been paid and guide those who need to pay. We provide citizens and businesses with information and good service, so they can make long-term and sustainable decisions. This requires knowledge, decisiveness, care, and courage. We contribute to a well-functioning society for the public and businesses – a society where debts and other claims are established and collected in a legally secure manner.

With us, you can expect challenging tasks that are also developing for you. When you leave work at the end of the day, you can be sure that you have done something that truly counts – both for others and for yourself.

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. You will be employed as a lawyer. The Swedish Enforcement Authority offers the possibility of remote work by agreement with the employer.

Working in the government means that you adhere to the government values. There are also special requirements for judgment, security thinking, and compliance with applicable laws. We ask questions during the interview about any previous criminal activity and shortcomings in previous employment. For final candidates, these questions are also posed to references. We also collect information about debts registered with the Swedish Enforcement Authority, bankruptcy, and business prohibitions. The information obtained will be considered in the overall assessment of your suitability for the position.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security classification. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision is made. For some of our tasks in security classification, Swedish citizenship is required.
