The Social Services Administration operates under the principle that all people we meet have the same value and are unique. Within the administration, there are IFO, LSS operations, social psychiatry, health care, home care, and special accommodations. Approximately 800 employees work here around the clock for our target groups.

We are now looking for colleagues for our home care group in Skogsbo. We are a wonderful team with a strong sense of community and close to laughter - are you the one we are looking for?

As a care assistant within Skogsbo home care, your overall goal is to provide the highest quality care to our clients in their own homes. Your work is based on the services granted according to the Social Services Act and aims to meet each individual's needs for care, support, and assistance in daily life.

Your main tasks involve helping clients with personal care, which may include assistance with dressing and undressing, hygiene, and meals. You also assist with social activities such as walks or other types of socializing. The work also includes medical care delegated by a nurse, where you perform tasks such as medication management and other medical interventions.

You will use a mobile phone as a tool to manage work schedules, documentation, and approval of services. The work also involves handling alarms, reporting deviations, and ensuring that all services are documented correctly according to applicable guidelines.

The work involves traveling to different clients' homes, either by walking, cycling, or driving the home care vehicles. Since services are provided in the individual's own home, there may be pets present, and the work can be physically demanding, involving heavier lifting, transfers, and movement.

The work includes both day, evening, and weekend shifts.

As a care assistant in home care, you are an important part of a team that works to provide each client with a dignified and secure existence in their own home. Through your commitment and professionalism, you contribute to creating a good quality of life for the elderly while ensuring that all services are performed according to applicable guidelines and with the highest possible care.

In the work within the care services in Avesta municipality, co-planning is an important part of the organization. You will be employed in the Social Services Administration with placement in Skogsbo home care, but co-planning means that you may sometimes work in other units within the administration. Skogsbo home care is primarily co-planned with Krylbo and Horndal home care.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a completed and approved care assistant education. Experience from care-related work is an advantage. If you have previous experience working with dementia, mental health issues, or severely ill individuals in their own homes, it is considered a benefit. You have an interest in undergoing training in medication delegation, and previous experience in medication delegation is advantageous.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, which allows you to communicate and understand information clearly and effectively. You are an experienced computer and mobile user and see it as a natural part of your work. It is also advantageous if you have knowledge of e-health and welfare technology.

The work requires physical ability to manage uncomfortable working positions, transfers, and a lot of movement, such as walking up stairs, getting in and out of cars several times per shift, as well as cycling or walking for extended periods. You should also be able to perform lifts in connection with, for example, transfers or shopping.

You need to be okay with working in environments where there may be pets, strong odors, and smoking, as these are things you may encounter in the job.

To perform the work, you need to have a B driver's license and be comfortable driving the municipality's vehicles in service. You also need to be able to cycle with the municipality's loan bikes when needed.
