Dangerous animal diseases can have serious consequences, from suffering in animals and humans to economic losses and disruptions in food supply. The Swedish National Veterinary Institute, SVA, is an expert authority that strengthens Sweden's ability to combat animal diseases that pose threats to critical societal functions through diagnostics, research, and advice. Job Responsibilities

You will primarily be unpacking, registering, and preparing samples for various parasitological analyses. The job also includes other routine tasks such as handling dishes, glassware, and waste, as well as making orders. The pace can be high at times, which means you should not be sensitive to stress. The most common analyses we perform are on fecal samples from various animal species, primarily horses, dogs, and cats. We also analyze many trichinella samples from wild boars daily. A large part of the work is performed while standing.

Qualifications

For the position, it is required that you understand and can express yourself in spoken and written Swedish and are computer literate. Applicants should not be sensitive to odors or allergic to horses, dogs, or cats.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability for the tasks, such as responsibility, service orientation, initiative, flexibility, quality awareness, as well as a careful and systematic working method. We want you to be able to work both independently and in a team.

We want you to have up-to-date knowledge and experience in routine diagnostics within veterinary parasitology. Furthermore, you should have worked with the journal system Svala. It is a requirement to master Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Conditions

The employment is a temporary position from 2026-01-01 to 2026-06-30. The schedule is daytime Monday to Thursday.
