Job Advertisement: Nurse for Department 7

The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Department 7 is one of three medical departments, each with 24 beds, focusing on cardiac and pulmonary care.

Three years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern hospital ward buildings. The work has changed as each patient is now cared for in their own room, and the department is equipped with the latest technology in the field.

Since 2022, Department 7 has been providing advanced HIA care. In these seven care places, we take care of and treat severely ill heart patients who were previously cared for in the ICU. The work in the department has thus become more specialized and varied. We are now looking for another colleague who wants to join us in further developing cardiac care. With us, you will have great opportunities to encounter many different interesting medical diagnoses within our three departments.

Job Responsibilities and Work Approach

From autumn, Department 7 will be a care department with 28 beds, of which 7 are HIA places, and the work is led by two unit managers in a shared leadership. The work in the department is knowledge-intensive, developing, and exciting, and we provide advanced medical care. We work in teams and with person-centered care in teams with nursing assistants, nurses, paramedics, and doctors to make the best use of each other's competencies. We are looking for nurses for day and evening shifts.

About You

We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others and wants to be part of our wonderful team where we together drive the business forward, work on improvement efforts, and create and develop our department and our ways of working with patients in focus.

Qualifications

You should be a licensed nurse, and it is advantageous if you have previous experience in medicine or cardiology/HIA.

For us, it is important that you are driven to develop care with the patient at the center, as well as actively share your knowledge with colleagues and equally curiously take part in your colleagues' competencies.

The length of introduction and shadowing is assessed based on your individual competence to give you the best possible start. Before starting work in HIA, you will also receive specific training and introduction.

The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. It also includes shadowing in other operations to give you a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an investment made to give you the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.
