The hospitals in the west are an administration within the Västra Götaland region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

The Surgical and Orthopedic Department at Kungälv Hospital includes two wards, an outpatient clinic for surgery/orthopedics and urology, an oncology clinic, and a gynecological clinic.

About the position

We are now looking for an engaged and qualified nurse for our urology outpatient clinic. The job requires great empathy, high competence, and a willingness to constantly develop within the field. The position is 100% and the working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday without weekends.

With us, you will work in a broad and varied role with responsibility for both patient contact and follow-up and coordination. Your main tasks consist of standard nursing duties that occur in the outpatient clinic and include, among other things:

• Patient meetings and counseling: Both pre- and post-operative, via phone (Telia ACE), 1177, and physical visits.
• Outpatient work: Assist doctors in urology with examinations such as cystoscopy, intermediate needle biopsies, and more.
• Interprofessional collaboration: Close cooperation with all professions in the hospital.
• Own clinic: Together with a colleague, run your own urology clinic, which includes instillation treatments, catheter changes, and being the contact nurse for urothelial cancer.

Qualifications

• License as a nurse with at least 2 years of experience as a nurse.
• Experience from outpatient work or urological care is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• A secure professional role with the ability to make independent decisions and prioritize in a varied everyday life.
• A humble and flexible approach – here we work across the boundaries between surgery, orthopedics, and urology.
• Interest in digitalization and the ability to work in various IT systems.
• Interest in being able to support other wards when needed.

Conditions

The employment is a maternity leave substitute starting as soon as possible and running until 2027-03-31 with the possibility of extension.
