Rights Bureau of Jönköping County – Functional Rights Jönköping County
Functional Rights Jönköping County has been granted funding from the Agency for Youth and Civil Society Issues (MUCF) to start the Rights Bureau of Jönköping County – an anti-discrimination bureau for the county.
With us, you will work with law that makes a difference for many.
You will be part of an established organization with long experience in rights work and strong regional anchoring. At the same time, you will be involved in the startup of something new, concrete, and socially important.
Here, you will help shape the operations.
About the position
As a lawyer at the Rights Bureau of Jönköping County, you will work closely with people who may be in vulnerable situations and contribute to ensuring that their rights are upheld. You will:
- Provide legal advice to individuals experiencing discrimination.
- Assess cases and help ensure that individuals' voices are heard.
- Support in contacts with authorities and other societal actors.
- Participate in training, information efforts, and advocacy work.
- Be involved in building up working methods and routines in a new operation.
- If necessary, act as a legal representative in negotiations.
- Join a network with other anti-discrimination bureaus in the country, meeting digitally primarily.
- Have the entire Jönköping County as your work area, which involves some travel in the job.
The work in the county is carried out in close collaboration with the region, municipalities, civil society, the county administrative board, and other relevant actors.
The position is located in our accessible office premises in central Jönköping. Working hours are during office hours - weekdays, with the possibility of working up to a couple of evenings a month.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a law degree.
- Has a strong commitment to human rights and equal treatment.
- Is comfortable meeting people in vulnerable situations.
- Works in a structured, independent manner with integrity.
- Has good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish.
Experience in discrimination law, social law, the non-profit sector, or advisory work is an asset but not a requirement.
