Description

We are currently seeking two student assistants for Frölundaskolan Bräcke.

The positions are permanent and full-time.

The South-West School Area 19 consists of two adapted primary schools for grades 1-9; Frölundaskolan Bräcke and Högsbogårdsskolan. We are now looking for student assistants who want to make a difference for our students at Frölundaskolan Bräcke. The school shares playgrounds and school buildings with Frölundaskolan.

The students follow adapted primary school curricula, subjects, and/or subject areas. The vast majority of students study according to the curriculum subject areas. Therefore, we are looking for student assistants who want a developing and student-centered job throughout the school day where our students can grow and develop.

Responsibilities

As a student assistant with us, you will be offered a varied job where one day is not like the other. You will be involved in both pedagogical and social contexts around the students in school and in after-school care/LSS. The assignment means that you work closely with the students and model behavior with a strong focus on interaction and approach. The work is based on the needs of the target group and includes support in teaching situations, care, and self-care. The work varies, and you need to have good physical health and mobility. All staff actively work to develop students' communication, participation, and influence. This means that all staff need competence in alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). Digital tools are a central communication tool for most of our students.

In the role of student assistant, you will be part of a team with several professions where you have close collaboration around the students. Together, you ensure that each student has the opportunity and motivation to develop into an independent individual based on their conditions.

Qualifications

Formal Competencies:

We are looking for someone who has at least a secondary education, with further training in the field. A requirement for the position is that you have at least six months of experience in adapted primary school. It is an advantage if you have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or have training in care.

Since digital tools are important aids for our students, you need to be able to support them in using these. You need to be able to or be willing to learn alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). It is also highly meritorious if you master tactile communication. You should be able to express yourself verbally and in writing in an appropriate manner.

Swimming and participation in water activities are knowledge requirements in school. Therefore, you need to have good swimming skills to support the students in this.

Personal Competencies:

We are looking for someone who is calm and secure in themselves. You see everyone's differences as an asset and are curious to find solutions for difficulties that students may encounter in the learning environment. Collaboration is a prerequisite and a given for you. In your professional role, you are expected to collaborate with other professionals and with guardians for the best interest of the student. This also requires a high degree of sensitivity.

You have an interest in and experience working with individuals with various disabilities and are attentive to each individual's specific conditions and needs. The work may involve students needing close support from you as a student assistant throughout their day in school and after-school care. Therefore, it is important that you put the student at the center and have the ability and enjoy acting independently.

Welcome with your application!

In this recruitment, in addition to a personal letter, you will need to answer a number of questions where we ask you to describe your competence in the requested area.
