Research Assistants Wanted at the Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology has about 140 employees and conducts extensive educational and research activities in collaboration with the surrounding community. Research Area

The Department of Psychology is now seeking one or two research assistants to assist in research activities within the ICON Lab and LIFE Lab research groups, partly in a project investigating brain plasticity during learning and partly in a project examining predictors of learning in older age.

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include various tasks related to managing and preparing data for analysis and conducting data collection; for example, recruiting research participants, interviewing research participants, and related administrative tasks.

Qualifications

The position requires good planning skills and the ability to work independently, as well as comfort in communicating with research participants and colleagues. Very good language skills in Swedish and English are required.

Desirable qualifications for the position include experience in:

  • data collection with older research participants and individuals with cognitive impairments
  • research activities, service professions, and patient-related work
  • practical research activities in cognitive psychology or cognitive neuroscience
  • research work in projects focused on learning and brain plasticity in older adults

Employment

The position is a fixed-term special employment of 50% for 5 months. Start date is February 1, 2025.

In the selection of qualified applicants, the candidate who, after a holistic assessment of competence (based on experience and personal qualities) and development potential, is deemed to have the best conditions to carry out the above-described tasks will be chosen. Furthermore, personal qualities such as planning ability, independence, and communication skills will also be considered.
