The Security and Preparedness Unit
In Herrljunga municipality, we have a broad mission and work both strategically and operationally with civil preparedness, crime prevention, and information security.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Your assignment includes two roles; Information Security Coordinator and Security Coordinator. However, the emphasis of the position lies in the field of information security.
As an Information Security Coordinator, you will lead, coordinate, and develop Herrljunga municipality's systematic information security and data protection work in collaboration with the security manager and others in the municipality.
As a Security Coordinator, you will work together with the security manager to coordinate and develop the municipality's crime prevention efforts in close cooperation with other internal functions in the municipality as well as external actors and citizens.
Your tasks are based on applicable legal requirements in the areas. Current tasks and responsibilities within the two roles include:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining strategic documents and guidelines, as well as creating conditions for management, department heads, and employees to carry out security work in their operations.
- Promoting good awareness and knowledge of security work through information and training activities, as well as support and advice.
- Planning, leading, and participating in the implementation of security analyses, information classifications, and similar.
- Preparing issues for management decisions and continuously following up on decided actions.
- Managing, compiling, and evaluating incidents/events that occur.
- Following up, developing, and evaluating security work.
- Leading or participating in relevant internal and external collaboration and cooperation groups.
As an employee in the Security and Preparedness Unit, you need to be able to contribute across all areas of responsibility of the unit; thus, the role will also be involved in the municipality's work with civil preparedness to some extent.
QUALIFICATIONS
You must have:
- Relevant academic education and/or experience in active information security work that the employer deems relevant for the position.
- High security awareness and understanding of the risks and vulnerabilities a municipality may face.
- Driver's license B.
- Good computer skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
A security vetting, including a background check in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585), will be conducted before employment as the position is security classified.
It is advantageous if you also have:
- Legal understanding and good knowledge of relevant legislation and other frameworks.
- Experience in leading projects and processes.
- Experience working in a politically governed organization.
- Experience in planning and conducting training, analyses, information, and system classifications, and similar.
- Experience in certification in information security (e.g., according to ISO 27 000 series), crime prevention work, and/or work with civil preparedness.
- Experience in handling incoming events and incidents.

Alternative: Information Security Administrator
We also want to open up the possibility to apply for the position even if you lack the qualification of relevant academic education and/or experience in information security work, provided that you are currently pursuing a relevant information security education (e.g., a 2-year program at a vocational college or equivalent). The position would then instead be Information Security Administrator at 50% to allow for part-time study, and the tasks will be adjusted according to the level of knowledge.
Other qualification requirements also apply to the position of Information Security Administrator.
