Fire Protection Coordinator for Gothenburg Garrison

The Swedish Armed Forces are looking for a Fire Protection Coordinator for Gothenburg Garrison to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation. You will work both independently and in a team. The position includes both a controlling and an educational role in fire protection as well as collaboration with other authorities.

About the Department

The position is located together with other administrators/coordinators at the Operational Safety Department G0. In addition to fire protection matters, the department also handles coordinates electrical safety, land safety, environmental safety, traffic safety, and maritime safety issues.

Main Responsibilities

Your daily work will primarily involve supporting the commander of Amf4 in his role as garrison commander by conducting systematic fire protection work within the garrison. In addition to supporting the unit commander, you will also support subordinate leaders in their work to analyze, implement, and maintain systematic fire protection work in the organization.

You will be responsible for ensuring that fire protection documentation is valid and implemented in the garrison and at the unit. To get an understanding of how fire safety is adhered to at the garrison and unit, you will conduct internal audits and report current situations during management reviews.

Tasks as Fire Protection Coordinator

• Coordinate the fire protection work of subordinate/participating units
• Coordinate garrison-wide fire protection issues
• Be the contact person for specific fire protection issues within your area of responsibility, with the central function, local planning unit/facility unit, supervisory authority, and the Fortifications Agency.
• Develop local governing documents in the area and stay updated, monitor developments and changes in governing documents, legislation, etc.
• Organize and establish a fire protection organization for the unit
• Follow up, analyze, and if necessary, develop fire protection within Amf 4
• Plan and coordinate the implementation of established fire protection training for staff and document and report completed training
• Report the status of fire protection work and support investigations of incidents and fires.

As the garrison's BSS, the task of fire protection leader (BSL) Amf 4 is also included. In daily operations, support Amf4 with fire protection expertise in all relevant activities. As Gothenburg Garrison grows, the infrastructure process will need support with fire protection analyses. The position also includes participating in networks for the Swedish Armed Forces' fire protection work and attending centrally organized theme days for fire protection.

Qualifications

• High school education with approved final grades
• Relevant vocational training and/or equivalent work experience in fire safety as assessed by the employer
• Good proficiency in the Office package
• Good ability to express oneself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Driver's license B.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current work experience from the Swedish Armed Forces
• Work experience in the role of training manager for fire protection work and its development
• Work experience in driving a functioning fire protection organization within public administration
• MBS training - Supervision A and B.

Personal Qualities

You should have good pedagogical skills as it involves educating and informing staff groups at all different levels, from soldiers and sailors to unit management. To thrive with the large contact area that the position entails, it is important that you are energetic, creative, communicative, and judicious and enjoy creating new contacts. You need to feel secure and comfortable in the role of educator and presenting specialist. You should be able to guide the commander in decision-making with well-balanced summaries. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
