JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a correctional officer, you will be part of a team where you have daily contact with clients. The tasks at the prison/detention center are varied: care, surveillance, searches, and security work are mixed with release planning and conversation/motivation work. Work at the detention center is often routine-driven and focused on care and security tasks. Clients may be detained for long periods without meeting anyone other than their lawyer and the staff at the detention center, which places special demands on you as a correctional officer.
Working as a correctional officer means you can make a difference for other people and contribute to a better society. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in human development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Your personal qualities are important to us. As a correctional officer, you need to be secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. Since you will be working with your colleagues to run the operations, you need to have good collaboration skills and the ability to communicate clearly. Good judgment and integrity are required in your professional practice. You should have a physical condition that enables you to act physically when the situation requires.

- Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
- A complete high school education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

It is an advantage if you have:
