About the Role
Do you want to be an important part of the energy transition? Vattenfall Services is Sweden's leading contracting company in the energy and power sector, and we are developing Sweden's energy infrastructure! With us, you work in a future-oriented industry with a strong focus on a sustainable future. We need more energy heroes, and we are now looking for a Health and Safety Engineer who wants to join us on the journey towards a fossil-free life! Is that you? Together we make a difference for the entire society.
As a Health and Safety Engineer, you belong to the Consulting Services business area and the Internal Technical Consultants department, which includes operational HSSEQ specialists, project managers, interim managers, and specialists. Within the department, we have a broad competence and various levels of experience. We work both within Vattenfall Services and with our customers in consulting assignments.
As a Health and Safety Engineer with us, you are responsible for supporting managers and project leaders in HSSEQ issues. In this role, you will be an important part of one of our larger service agreements. You will work closely with the local operations – both in the office and in the field – to develop and follow up on the systematic work environment and environmental work. The work is carried out in close collaboration with department managers, project leaders, and technicians.
Your main tasks include:
- Drive, plan, and follow up on HSSEQ work.
- Conduct field visits and participate in safety and environmental rounds.
- Support the work with environmental and work environment plans, risk management, and deviation management, as well as follow up on documentation.
- Assist in maintaining routines and working methods to ensure compliance with work environment laws and environmental requirements.
- Follow up on audits and subcontractors.
You belong to a team of health and safety engineers but are led in your assignment by our HSSEQ specialist in our contract organization.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment to HSSEQ issues from a business and operational perspective. You have a pedagogical approach and are driven by improvement work. It is important that you are a person who appreciates collaboration and has an easy time making contacts as you will have many points of contact in the role. Since you are expected to work independently, you also need to be structured with a good ability to plan.
We know that you will develop together with us. However, we would like you to already have:
- Experience in systematic work environment and environmental work, preferably within the construction and civil engineering industry, energy sector, or manufacturing industry.
- Good knowledge of the Work Environment Act, AFS regulations, the Environmental Code, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's guidelines, and EU legislation on environment and sustainability.
- Education in BAS-P and BAS-U.
- Experience in audit work within HSSEQ is an advantage.
- Very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
