About the Role

As a security guard in the retail area, you will play an important role in creating safety and comfort on the city's streets, squares, shops, and malls. You work where the pulse is highest – in the heart of Gothenburg – and are a visible and appreciated part of the cityscape, especially during events and tourist seasons.

We are looking for someone who has a genuine commitment to people and wants to contribute to a safe and respectful society. You easily create good relationships and treat everyone with warmth and respect, regardless of background.

You are employed by Securitas and work according to the police authority's regulations. Your main task is to create safety through your presence – both by preventing anxiety and by acting when the situation requires it.

Requirements

We are looking for a calm and stable person who can maintain composure even when a lot is happening around you. You are humble, team-oriented, and service-minded in your interactions with the public, but you also understand the responsibility of your role and can remain objective when required. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal suitability for the position.

• You have a security guard training and a valid security guard license
• You have passing grades in Swedish and English from the first year of high school
• B driver's license

You can also apply if you have:

• Started security guard training
• Been accepted to security guard training (acceptance letter required)

It is an advantage if you also have

• Civil or military security guard training
• Completed military service
• Completed security guard training, VU1 and VU2
• Experience working in the security industry

For employment within Securitas Sweden AB, it is required that you have passing grades from the first year of high school in Swedish and English and are approved by the County Administrative Board for employment in an authorized security company according to the Act (1974:191) on security companies (the application is made by Securitas). Depending on the position, a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may also be relevant. To investigate and assess whether you meet the requirements to be approved according to each regulation, a background check will be conducted. The assessment concerns legality, suitability, reliability, loyalty, and any vulnerabilities. Information obtained may come from you, open sources, or authorities. We apply a holistic assessment when evaluating suitability for each position.

Salary and employment conditions are based on the collective agreement between the employer organization Security Companies and the Swedish Transport Workers' Union.
