About the position

You will teach physical education and health from grades 1-9, be part of a work team, and have subject colleagues to support you in planning and assessment.

Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational work together with your colleagues based on the school's governing documents and the needs of the students. You will find strategies to reach each student and enhance their development both academically and socially.

With your solid subject knowledge, you will create creative lessons with a differentiated and dynamic lesson design that engages students' interest. The activities are planned, implemented, evaluated, and developed through collegial learning.

As a physical education teacher, you are also responsible for the sports facility and planning purchases related to the subject. Since we have a swimming pool, swimming instruction is also included.

We are looking for you who:

We are looking for a certified teacher with qualifications to teach physical education and health, preferably in combination with another subject.

You are passionate about the subject and are good at organizing larger activity days, such as outdoor days. You need to have a systematic approach and be responsible for communicating with all teachers and work teams regarding these days.

You are a good leader in the classroom who creates a safe learning environment for all students. You have a good understanding of people's different abilities to absorb knowledge and adapt your teaching and communication accordingly, to both guide and challenge.

You are insightful and can apply a norm-critical perspective in the planning and implementation of your teaching. We are looking for someone who enjoys spending time and effort building good relationships with your students and maintaining good communication with guardians.

You are a clear leader who leads with warmth and considers the best interests of each individual student. You work independently but value collaboration with colleagues, thereby building your own and your team's competence and development. You are happy to share your knowledge and are also open to others' thoughts and ideas.

You reflect on practical work both by analyzing in the moment and making didactic decisions accordingly and systematically throughout the school year.

About Bergsjö School

Bergsjö School is a F–9 school with approximately 500 students, and we also have an adapted primary school for grades 1-10. Our school is located in Nordanstig – close to both nature and the sea. We work purposefully to strengthen the quality of teaching, build trusting relationships, and create a school where all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Together, we work towards higher goal fulfillment and a more equitable school.
