At the Department of Caring Science, you will be part of a collegium of about 65 employees.

We offer education at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels and work to strengthen both research in caring science and interdisciplinary research.

The Academy of Health and Working Life, Department of Caring Science at the University of Gävle hereby announces a temporary position as a university lecturer in caring science for approximately eleven months.

Job Responsibilities

The position includes teaching, course responsibility, supervision of thesis work (students' independent work), and assessment of examination assignments at undergraduate and advanced levels. The tasks include the nursing program, supplementary education for nurses with foreign degrees from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland, specialist nursing programs, and independent courses. The position also includes administrative work, participation in the department's development work regarding teaching and research, collaboration with the surrounding community, and internationalization. Some of the education is conducted as campus-based education, which involves travel, and parts of the teaching are also delivered online. Teaching in programs and independent courses will occur in several areas, including nursing hygiene, microbiology, immunology, and scientific theory and method.

The temporary position is full-time (100%) for about eleven (11) months with a possible extension. Start date is 260301 or by agreement. The place of employment is Gävle.

Qualifications

For the position, a nursing degree and a master's degree in caring science/nursing or equivalent, as assessed by the employer, are required. Particularly meritorious is a specialist nursing degree with practical experience as a nurse/specialist nurse and a doctoral degree in caring science, nursing, medical science, or a related field as assessed by the employer. Documented experience of teaching at a university in particular nursing hygiene, microbiology, and supervision of thesis work is meritorious. Furthermore, considering the content and tasks of the position, it is meritorious that the applicant can demonstrate documented good collaboration and initiative skills, certificates of previous work in higher education in Sweden, and if you have completed training in higher education pedagogy. The applicant must, considering the content and tasks of the position, demonstrate a good ability to express themselves in spoken and written Swedish and English. The assessment will be made regarding practical, pedagogical, and scientific competence in the field of caring science/nursing. Additionally, the degree of administrative ability and other skills that are significant for the tasks included in the position will be assessed.
