Do you want to make a real difference?
Bergsjö School is looking for a special education teacher with a focus on Swedish.
At Bergsjö School, we work to ensure that every student succeeds – not by chance, but through clear leadership, strong relationships, and a shared drive to develop our teaching. We are now looking for an engaged special education teacher who wants to help shape the future of education with us.
About the position
Bergsjö School is seeking a special education teacher focused on Swedish, who is passionate about the well-being, health, and development of children and adolescents. The responsibilities include being an active part of our support organization, where students receive support in smaller contexts from both teaching staff and our special education teachers/special pedagogues. You will also be an active part of our student health team, where you, together with other professionals, plan and implement student health work for the student cases that are on the student health agenda. You collaborate with student health to establish the routines and frameworks that the student health work at our school is based on. You participate in result follow-ups and plan new initiatives based on the results, both at the individual and group levels. You collaborate with students, guardians, educators, principals, and other school staff, as well as other actors that the school interacts with. You will also continuously provide support to educators in their work with extra adjustments and special support.
Qualifications
You are a qualified special education teacher. We welcome applicants with experience across all grades of compulsory school from F-9. You have extensive knowledge of and experience with NPF.
If you have previous experience working as a special education teacher, it is highly meritorious. It is important that you are also a secure and independent person who embodies the values that the school stands for. You have a strong commitment and are passionate about finding the key to helping students reach their full potential in achieving all of the school's goals. You have good communication skills and the ability to create and maintain trusting relationships with everyone you meet in your professional role. You are skilled at both collaborating and working independently and thrive in an environment that demands responsibility, flexibility, decisiveness, and service. You have a positive attitude and the ability to analyze and address reasoning and problems to find development opportunities in the varying challenges of the organization. You appreciate order and structure and work systematically. You are driven and want to develop both yourself and the organization you work in.
Personal qualities
You are a positive and competent educator who is passionate about your students. You are flexible, creative, engaged, and see relationships as your primary pedagogical tool. You have drive and a solution-focused approach, seeing opportunities – not obstacles. You have a formative approach and the ability to recognize and meet the diverse needs of students.
Join us in building the future!
Together, we work for higher goal fulfillment and a more equitable school. The Swedish National Agency for Education, SPSM, Mid Sweden University, and RUC-X are some of the partners we collaborate with to achieve this.
We work for equity and the same conditions between schools, as all students meet in the municipality's upper secondary school. We strive for good transitions and a reflective environment where everyone has the opportunity to develop and achieve good results.
We are purposefully working to develop our teaching across all activities, and the foundation of this work is collegial learning. Within our schools, we work to ensure that the team is greater than the individual. Openness, respect, and responsibility are our shared values.
