JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you attracted to enabling a developing and inclusive future for newly arrived children and youth? Then this could be a position for you! We are looking for an engaged mother tongue teacher! Come and shape Gävle's future with us.

The students should be given the opportunity to develop and consolidate subject knowledge based on their linguistic prerequisites, which is why we are now looking for a mother tongue teacher in Romanian for Gävle municipality's primary schools. The work is carried out in collaboration with other educators, student health, and guardians.

As a mother tongue teacher in Romanian, your responsibilities will include:

• teaching the language
• educating students about the culture and traditions of the countries where the language is spoken

The teaching follows a curriculum that has a comparative purpose, which means that you must also have good Swedish language skills.

For students who have difficulty meeting knowledge requirements or keeping up in other subjects, you as a mother tongue teacher can support through study guidance. This involves highlighting or deepening students' knowledge in an area where Swedish concepts need to be clarified and discussed in the mother tongue.

The employment is 30%.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be able to perform the task, you must:

• master Romanian fluently in both spoken and written form
• master Swedish fluently in both spoken and written form
• be able to work based on the goals of the organization and follow planning

It is important that you:

• feel comfortable speaking, reading, or writing in front of a larger group of children or youth
• have a relationship-building approach
• can create an open dialogue
• adapt your actions based on the situation
• have a humble attitude in your collaboration with others
