Specialist Physician in Psychiatry - Chief Physician
We are now looking for an experienced specialist physician in psychiatry with a genuine interest in patient safety to take on the exciting role of chief physician at one of Sweden's largest psychiatric clinics.
About the Organization
The psychiatry in Region Stockholm is in an exciting phase of development with the establishment of new Psychosis Care Stockholm. Our current chief physician will transition to the same role at the new psychosis clinic. We are one of Sweden's largest psychiatric organizations with currently over 1000 employees, 12 inpatient wards, a total of 222 beds, and outpatient care with 14 clinics.
Our ambition is to become a leading example in Swedish psychiatry, which we achieve by working person-centered, providing the right competence for the patient's needs, emphasizing the application of evidence-based guidelines and care programs. We invest in development work in the areas of patient safety, care processes, and our most important resource, the employee. The cohesive psychiatric organization, tasked with providing psychiatry for all ages, offers opportunities to shape care based on the patient's needs.
Your Role as Chief Physician
The role of chief physician primarily involves:
- responsibility for involuntary care
- leading the patient safety team
- working with safety issues
- contributing to strategic quality development
The position is broad with many points of contact both within the organization and with external partners, patients, and relatives.
You will report directly to the operations manager for Psychiatry Southern Stockholm and be part of the clinic's management team, closely collaborating with management and section leaders, as well as leading our patient safety team.
Our Expectations of You
The role requires that you are a specialist physician in psychiatry. You have solid clinical experience from both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as a strong interest in educational and development issues. Furthermore, you have experience and a strong interest in patient safety and healthcare law. We place great importance on personal suitability. We expect you to be proactive, have good communication skills, express yourself well in writing, and have high integrity. You easily build relationships, show respect for others, and have the ability to create participation and harness others' ideas. Based on the organization's goals, you are expected to set clear goals for quality development work and follow up on these goals in a clear and structured manner. You are motivated by challenges and have a solution-oriented approach. We wish for you to have a well-developed diplomatic ability, be confident yet enthusiastic with the courage to make decisions and implement changes. An academic background such as a doctoral degree is an advantage.

The position is a permanent employment at 100% where you will be hired as a specialist physician with a three-year appointment as chief physician, with the possibility of extension.

- employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to applicable directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
- in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
