A central coordination clarifies the mission and enables support and development for the various professions in the schools' student health teams. We are now looking for a structured and collaborative school nurse in Upplands Väsby Municipality!

About us

The Education Office is Upplands Väsby Municipality's largest office with over 730 employees responsible for all forms of operations. In addition to all schools under municipal management, there are departments for central child and student health, support and development, as well as finance and administration within the Education Office. You will belong to the department for central child and student health, which consists of about 25 employees. A central coordination clarifies the mission and enables support and development for the various professions in the student health teams in the schools.

About the position

You will be placed at Breddenskolan, which is a F-5 school. The central child and student health team holds regular professional meetings to work together on various operational issues. Together with school nurses, school doctors, school psychologists, school social workers, and other staff, you will work for a safe and sustainable Väsby. The assignment includes collaboration with the school's other staff, guardians, and other organizations and authorities outside the school to create a safe school environment for the students.

The main mission of the student health team is to work health-promoting and preventive to create a learning environment and the best possible conditions that promote students' learning, development, and health. The student health team is led by the principal, and as a school nurse, you will collaborate closely with other professionals in student health work.

The school nurse works based on Upplands Väsby Municipality's basic program for student health. The medical interventions include health visits, open reception, vaccination administration, and planning of school doctor receptions.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for you who:

• Are a licensed nurse with specialist training in health and medical care for children and adolescents, district nurse, or school nurse.
• Have computer skills (you should be able to work in basic computer programs and have experience with data journals).

It is an advantage if you have previous experience working as a school nurse.

As a person, you are collaborative, with a good ability to adapt in order to achieve common goals. Furthermore, you are structured, which for us means that you work according to a clear process, independently organize and plan your work well, complete what you have started, and meet deadlines. We also believe that you need to be relationship-building and stable to fit into the role, by actively taking initiative in social contexts, stepping forward, and easily creating new relationships, as well as handling stress constructively.
