Consultant Psychiatrist at BUP Stockholm - A Path In
Do you want to have a central role in an organization that makes a difference for children and adolescents? BUP Stockholm is now seeking a consultant psychiatrist for our unit A Path In, which works to triage all new incoming cases in the form of referrals and self-referrals to BUP Stockholm.
BUP A Path In is part of the Neuropsychiatry Section. This section consists of six units for patients with neuropsychiatric issues and A Path In (EVI).
The unit is staffed by experienced healthcare professionals who ensure that patients and their relatives receive the right care at the right place and at the right time, both via phone and digitally. The unit receives all incoming referrals to BUP and assesses whether the patient requires specialized child psychiatric interventions.
Job Description
As a consultant psychiatrist in the unit, you are a key person in assessing incoming referrals and supporting the staff who handle care requests digitally via always open and by phone. You will work closely with the unit manager and deputy unit manager. Together with colleagues, your task is to ensure high-quality triaging for care in accordance with the child psychiatry mission. In addition to your colleagues in the unit, you will have close collegial exchanges with other specialist doctors within BUP Stockholm. On-call duties are included.
Qualifications
You who are applying should be a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry. Work experience in the field is necessary, as well as familiarity with modern, evidence-based methods. A very good ability to make independent assessments is required. Experience in child psychiatric outpatient care is also a requirement.

BUP A Path In is part of BUP Stockholm. BUP Stockholm offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents from 0 to 17 years within Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County Healthcare Area (SLSO), which is a healthcare provider within Region Stockholm. Together, we are about 1,000 employees who each year meet over 22,000 children, adolescents, and their families.
The position will be filled on the condition that it does not need to be allocated for internal relocation, according to current regulations.
In patient-related work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Area:
- background checks are applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during hiring.
- employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment medical examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
- in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
