Placement Coordinator at the Family Home Unit in Järfälla

The Family Home Unit is part of the Child and Youth Services within the Social Administration. We are a dedicated team of family home secretaries and child caseworkers who work together on issues concerning family home-placed children and youth, contact activities, and unaccompanied minors. We are a well-functioning group with a good work climate and close collaboration within the area.

We are currently in an exciting development phase where we are expanding the role of placement coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for the contact and follow-up of our external placements and ensure that the services we engage maintain high quality. You will play a central role in shaping a new working method that improves our work for the children and youth who are in greatest need of a safe placement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a placement coordinator, you are responsible for identifying and assessing suitable external placements, HVB, consultant-supported emergency and family homes, and support accommodations for children and youth who need to be placed. You assist social workers in critical situations regarding placements and are active in driving the placements forward.

The work involves close collaboration with both social workers and external providers. You are responsible for ensuring an efficient and cohesive process regarding external placements, including negotiation and contract writing. You maintain continuous dialogue with the external services and follow up to ensure they deliver according to agreements and that their work meets our high quality standards. You review the companies' routines, staffing, and safety work with a focus on legal security and preventing deficiencies.

In this role, you also collaborate with our procurement unit, monitor contract compliance, and contribute knowledge to future procurements. The role includes both operational work and the development of working methods and processes. You also support family home secretaries in their work and are part of the family home secretary group at the Family Home Unit. The work also involves travel within Sweden. This is not a role for you if you are looking for long-term client contacts, as the focus is on working with external services rather than clients.

You have a holistic perspective where the best interests of the child, quality, and cost control are central elements so that children and youth receive the right care while we take responsibility for Järfälla's tax funds.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a social worker with extensive experience in handling placed children within social services. You have an interest in contract writing, follow-up, and quality work, and you have the ability to set clear demands. The role requires you to be meticulous, systematic, and enjoy both quality and development work. You need to have a driver's license and be flexible regarding travel within Sweden. You have good collaboration skills and the ability to handle stress and complex situations in a professional manner. To succeed in the role, you are confident in negotiations and have a strong focus on legal security. We also see that you are interested in development work and monitoring the external environment. Experience in procurement processes and an interest in law are advantageous.
