About the position

As an escort, you assist individuals with disabilities in participating in society on the same terms as everyone else. The assignment involves breaking social isolation and creating opportunities for participation, independence, and safety. You accompany the person you support on errands, walks, and leisure activities – this can range from going to the cinema or theater to visiting museums or doing everyday shopping. For individuals with visual impairments, interpretation and support for orientation in the environment are also included.

Responsibilities

• Accompany individuals on activities outside the home, such as errands, walks, and cultural experiences
• Provide interpretation as needed and support for orientation in the environment
• Ensure safety and accessibility throughout the activity

We are looking for someone who

• Is empathetic, attentive, and has a good demeanor
• Has good communication skills and can describe environments clearly
• Is flexible and can adapt to the individual's needs
• Has experience in escorting or interpretation (preferable but not required)
