We are now looking for two support assistants to strengthen our team at LSS group homes in Järva, target group 1 and 2, with extensive experience with these groups.

At the group home, there mainly live individuals with various disabilities, including neuropsychiatric conditions and those within the autism spectrum, acquired brain injury, and visual impairment.

In Järva, you are close to the city, transportation, and nature.

Your role

As a support assistant, you will meet the individual needs of the users and support them in all situations of daily life. The goal is to support the users towards increased influence, independence, and security. The work is conducted with respect for the users' right to self-determination and integrity. You will collaborate with representatives, relatives, assistance coordinators, daily activities, and LSS Health. The work is characterized by a pedagogical approach, a clear and structured working method, as well as a low-arousal and respectful attitude towards users and colleagues. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Completed a high school program in health and care with a specialization in disability. Alternatively, a child and leisure program with a focus on social work or educational work.
  • Completed and is certified in the training program “Pedagogical Framework”.
  • Knowledge of and at least two years of experience working with and for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • At least one year of experience working with and for individuals with acquired brain injuries.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge in social service documentation.
  • Knowledge of LSS.
  • Knowledge in low-arousal responses.
  • Good command of the Swedish language and a good ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

We consider it an advantage to have:

  • Experience working with individuals with visual impairments
  • MI
  • Experience working with cognitive aids and sign language support.

We are looking for a stable person with empathetic abilities. You have the capacity to plan, structure, and prioritize in daily work. As a person, you are meticulous and professional, respectful and compliant in your interactions and approach, as well as flexible and easy to collaborate with others, and have a good ability to listen. We see that you should be able to work pedagogically based on the core principles and intentions of LSS. In your work, you will need to handle difficult situations that require you to respond to individuals with challenging behaviors in a low-arousal manner.
