Do you want to work with advanced embedded development that actually makes a difference for society? With our client, you will become a key person in the development of next-generation control systems for water and sewage pumping stations – technology that contributes every day to providing people with clean water and ensuring the infrastructure of communities functions.
ABOUT THE POSITION:As an Embedded Developer with our client, you will work on developing next-generation control systems for water and sewage pumping stations. You will be part of a delivery team responsible for developing, testing, and delivering production software. You will work in a modern and modular platform with both Yocto Linux and Zephyr, where the main logic is developed in Python/C and runs on a powerful main module, while smaller C-based modules collect data from sensors and pumps. It is a complex product with many parts that need to work together, and you will work closely with system architects, product owners, and other senior developers. You will have significant responsibility and influence: you will be involved in reading feature descriptions, developing technical solution proposals, and overseeing implementation all the way into the product.
The working method is agile with pair programming, mob sessions, and frequent technical discussions — perfect if you enjoy learning, sharing, and improving together with the team. Additionally, you will be offered international collaboration with teams in other countries and a daily routine where you work in a virtual test environment and in the lab with real hardware. This is a role for you who want to solve real problems, develop technically, and contribute to a product that truly matters.
Responsibilities:
- Read feature descriptions (FT) and develop implementation proposals (IP)
- Develop software in Linux (Python/C) and Zephyr (C)
- Interact with hardware and new modules
- Write test strategies and contribute to regression and HIL testing
- Deliver code via CI/CD flows
- Participate in design, problem-solving, and continuous improvements
Technical environment:
- Main system: Yocto Linux on ST i.MX6
– Application developed in Python that is C-compiled - Modules: Zephyr RTOS
– C applications for sensor data collection and communication with the main module - Development environment: Debian, PyCharm, VSCode
- Tools: Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira, Jenkins
- Test environment: HIL rigs and virtual regression environments with a self-developed Python-based testing framework
- Have a bachelor's or master's degree in embedded systems or equivalent education
- Have at least 1 year of experience in embedded development (C, Python, Linux) in a production environment, where you have delivered production software
- Have experience with CI/CD concepts (e.g., Jenkins)
- Are accustomed to agile work and collaboration in larger development teams
- Speak and write fluent English; Swedish is a plus
Knowledge and experience with Zephyr, RTOS, Debian, PyCharm, VSCode, Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, HIL rigs are advantageous.
