Operational Management Leader at the Riksbank

Do you want to contribute to a secure and efficient payment infrastructure for all of Sweden? We are currently looking for an experienced and committed operational management leader.

The Riksbank has the mission to ensure stability in the financial system and to ensure that payments can be made safely and efficiently. Payments and payment systems are central parts of Sweden's infrastructure, and the Riksbank's system processes approximately 550 billion Swedish kronor daily. To ensure that payments can be carried out in a secure and efficient manner, the Riksbank owns and operates the central payment system (RIX), which banks and other actors can use to make payments, as well as the support system used to monitor and evaluate the collateral that counterparties can provide against credit from the Riksbank.

YOUR TEAM

The Riksbank consists of nine departments, and the RIX management unit belongs to the payments department. The unit consists of 14 employees with roles as management leaders and system administrators, as well as a unit manager. We work closely with the other two RIX units, Operations and Business Development.

WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US

We are currently looking for a management leader who will primarily lead the management and further development of the team around the support system for collateral. As a management leader at RIX management, you will have the opportunity to work and develop in a dynamic environment where critical payment infrastructure is the focus. The unit is facing several interesting and exciting projects within the payment and securities area and needs to strengthen its ability to lead management assignments, drive further development, and implement new services in management. The Riksbank offers a broad and developing role where you will be an important part of the collaboration with the IT department, system suppliers, and our counterparties in the collateral support system (including banks and financial infrastructures).

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Designing the management plan and executing its goals within given frameworks.
  • Planning, leading, driving, and following up on management work within the payment area together with other management leaders within RIX management and the Riksbank's IT department.
  • Coordinating the work to describe the business needs and requirements.
  • Monitoring suppliers and approving deliveries to the business.
  • Collaborating in projects with colleagues regarding timelines, resources, and dependencies.
  • Leading specific management assignments within the area.
  • Alongside the operational assignment, working on the continuous development of our own methods and processes to constantly improve our mission.
  • Participating in the incident organization, which also includes being on call 24/7 according to a schedule.
  • Taking leadership within your areas of responsibility, but without personnel responsibility - that lies with the unit manager.

MORE ABOUT YOU

You thrive in a role where you can take responsibility and solve problems, and you have good judgment and confidence in your leadership. In the role, you will have many points of contact, both internally and externally, and it is important that you can create engagement and a positive collaborative climate between different functions and professional roles. Your endurance and ability to work long-term and systematically with a focus on goals and results are important success factors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • University or college education in economics, computer science, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • Several years of practical experience in management from a business perspective.
  • Experience in the role of the business's client towards IT suppliers, both internally and externally.
  • Several years of practical experience in requirements specification, development, and management within these areas.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and are looking for someone who is:

  • Used to taking a leadership role to drive and coordinate and has an easy time building trust and collaborating.
  • A skilled communicator with the ability to lead and create team spirit.
  • Analytical, results-oriented, solution-oriented, and responsible.

Merits:

  • Previous experience from operations within banking and finance, government, or critical infrastructure.
  • Experience working with foreign suppliers.
  • Education or certifications in management or project management.
  • Experience in governance and monitoring of suppliers.
  • Experience with methods such as pm3, pejl, and agile working methods.
  • Knowledge in the securities or payments area.
