JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The social and support services administration of Karlskrona municipality is looking for you who want a rewarding and educational summer job where you can make a difference for others. The goal of your work is to give people with physical, mental, or intellectual disabilities the opportunity to live like others.

The administration has about 100 workplaces throughout the municipality with several different operations such as special accommodations, personal assistance, daily activities, short-term placements/children's and youth activities, and housing support. We provide support to people of all ages, around the clock, every day of the year.

The individuals we support have different needs. Support may be needed with personal care and hygiene. It may be necessary to assist in communication and understanding. It may also mean providing support in daily tasks such as cooking, laundry, and shopping. It can also involve doing or accompanying the user in various activities. The type of support to be provided is agreed upon together with the user and is documented in an implementation plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

What is required to work with us?

You need to have a genuine interest in helping others. Experience in care/educational work is an advantage, but not a requirement. We will provide you with the practical knowledge you need, and we will solve the challenges you face together. You should be at least 18 years old before the summer position starts to work in the social and support services administration. A driver's license is desirable but not mandatory. You need to have good Swedish skills in speaking and writing to communicate and document.

When do we need you?

Our summer periods are from mid-June to mid-August, but there may be a need even before and after the summer period. Your working hours vary depending on where you will be working. The need for our service exists every day and at all hours of the day. Your schedule will include shifts during the day-evening and/or night. We work both on weekdays and weekends.
