About Me

I am an 18-year-old guy who needs extra support in daily life. I am active and like to keep busy. I live in my own apartment in central Olofström, where there are good bus connections. During the school terms, I attend school and leisure activities, where I communicate using pictures.

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors. My wheelchair has a third wheel so that I can get around a bit everywhere. I can stand on my legs and train in my standing frame regularly (at least 60 minutes/day). I love music. Others might get tired of hearing the same songs over and over again, but I become happy and calm from music I recognize. Routines are important to me, and my assistants work systematically throughout the day to create clarity.

Since I do not have a spoken language, there is sometimes some frustration. It is important that you see early signs and can divert me in time. It is important that I know what is going to happen and feel prepared. When people do not understand me, I can become "lightning angry" and perhaps throw something on the floor or wave my arms around. Then it is important that you, as an assistant, stay calm and do not get scared. Just as quickly as I became angry, I become happy again. I always have a fox behind my ear; I like humor and laughter.

Who are you applying for the job?

You who are applying are welcome to like being active, while it is also important that you can take it easy. You need to be stable and perceptive; it is an advantage if you have experience with autism and challenging behavior. Most importantly, you need to stand firm on the ground and have your heart in the right place. Here you have a chance to make a difference for a young guy entering adulthood.

About the Position

Hourly/summer substitute applies for day, evening, awake night, and weekends. Working hours will be on school days Monday to Friday 08:30-19:30 as well as 14:30-21:30 and 21:15-09:10.
