Job Description

The Social and Disability Support Administration of Karlskrona Municipality is looking for you who want a rewarding and educational summer job where you get the opportunity to make a difference for others. The goal of your work is to give people with physical, mental, or intellectual disabilities the opportunity to live like everyone else.

The administration has approximately 100 workplaces throughout the municipality with several different operations such as special housing, personal assistance, day activities, short-term placements/child and youth activities, and housing support. We provide support to people of all ages, around the clock, every day of the year.

The people we support have different needs. Support may be needed with care and personal hygiene. Support may be needed in communicating and making oneself understood. It can also mean that you provide support in daily chores such as cooking, laundry, and shopping. It can also mean doing or accompanying the user on various activities. What support should be given is agreed upon together with the user and is written down in an implementation plan.

Qualifications

What is required to work with us?

You need to have a genuine interest in helping others. Experience in care/pedagogical work is an advantage, but not a requirement. We will provide you with the practical knowledge you need, and the challenges you encounter, we will solve together. You must be 18 years old before the summer temporary position begins to work in the Social and Disability Support Administration. A driver's license is desirable but not required. You need good Swedish skills in speech and writing to be able to communicate and document.

When do we need you?

Our vacation periods are from mid-June to mid-August, but there may be a need before and after the vacation period. Your working hours will vary depending on where you will be working. The need for our service exists every day and every hour of the day. Your schedule will include day-evening and/or night shifts. We work both on weekdays and weekends.
