We are looking for an experienced Network Specialist who is passionate about robust infrastructure, advanced troubleshooting, and high security. You will work in an environment where availability, redundancy, and correct traffic flow are crucial for the business. The role is technically broad and requires deep expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, segmentation, load balancing, and analysis.

🛠 Assignment Content

As a Network Specialist, you will be a key person in the management and development of the entire organization's network. You will be involved in both daily operations and the design of future platforms.

Technology Stack & Platforms

You will work with:

• Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR)

• Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, or equivalent firewall platforms

• Layer 2/3: VLAN, trunking, spanning tree, HSRP/VRRP, DHCP, ARP

• Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP

• Network Access Control (802.1X, radius, certificates)

• VPN (Site-to-site & Remote Access)

• SD-WAN

• Monitoring & logging (NetFlow, SNMP, Syslog, Wireshark)

• Load balancing and proxy services (e.g., F5 – highly meritorious)

• DNS, NTP, IP planning, segmentation & Zero Trust principles

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Operations, maintenance, and further development of network platforms

• Advanced troubleshooting in complex networks

• Capacity planning, design, and improvement work

• Incident, problem, and change management

• Implementation of security requirements, hardening, and segmentation

• Traffic analysis, optimization, and flow control

• Lifecycle management, firmware/OS upgrades

• Support for projects, application teams, and infrastructure colleagues

• Documentation and architecture overviews

• Monitoring the external environment and advising on network technology and security

This is a role where you will have significant technical responsibility and a great opportunity to influence the quality and development of the platform.

✅ Mandatory Requirements (must be met)

To be considered, you must:

✔ Achieve competence level 4 (senior)

✔ Have at least 4–5 years of experience in advanced network operations in larger environments

✔ Have documented experience in:

• Cisco or equivalent enterprise networks

• Advanced routing & switching

• DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and network design

• Firewall administration and secure network architecture

• Expert-level troubleshooting (packet tracing, analysis, logs)

• Working in security-classified or critical IT environments

✔ Be able to work onsite in Sundsvall as required

✔ Master Swedish and English in speech and writing

⭐ Preferred Requirements (highly meritorious)

It is highly meritorious if you have experience in:

➕ F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM/WAF)

➕ SD-WAN, e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, VMware

➕ Automation: Ansible, Python, PowerShell

➕ IaaS/cloud networking: Azure, AWS, hybrid solutions

➕ Network Access Control (802.1X, ClearPass, ISE)

➕ Design of redundancy, failover, and HA clusters

➕ ITIL processes and work with Change/Incident/Problem

➕ Experience in network security & Zero Trust

If you have also worked with traffic optimization, proxies, load balancing, or API security, it is a significant advantage.
