Observit AB develops software that connects cameras and other devices to the cloud for secure handling and access to video and technical data. Our systems are used in environments where reliability is crucial – from devices operating on buses and trains to central administration in the cloud, the entire chain must work together.

We are currently in a technical modernization phase where the platform is being further developed for higher quality, better stability, and increased scalability. Therefore, we are looking for someone who wants to help us develop the systems long-term.

We are seeking an experienced system developer who wants to understand how the system actually works and can be improved over time to meet the demands that arise as we scale up. This is a gradual process where we modernize, extract new services where they are useful, and ensure that what already exists continues to function.

We believe you have

· Several years of experience in backend or system development

· Familiarity with working in production systems with real users and requirements

· Good understanding of how larger systems are structured and interact

· Experience in professional development work with PHP and/or Node.js or equivalent language in the field

You will work with

· Further development and involvement in the creation of backend services such as APIs, gateways, event handlers, video processors (mainly PHP, some services in Node.js, a few in C++)

· Gradual modernization of existing systems, tools, and working methods

· Improvement of build, test, and delivery flows, including CI/CD

· Collaboration with embedded and AI teams on common solutions

· Write clear, sustainable, and readable code

· Work structured with Git, code reviews, and common standards

· Be unpretentious and enjoy collaborating

· Take responsibility for technical solutions from idea to operation

· Master English fluently in both speech and writing
