Are you a study and career counselor who is passionate about developing guidance and feel that the right place is within adult education? Järfälla Lärcentrum is looking for an engaged and driven study and career counselor who wants to develop the operations within SFI and SVA together with us.

Järfälla Adult Education and Activity Responsibility conducts municipal adult education in both authorized and self-managed forms and works with the municipality's activity responsibility, KAA. The operations are divided into Youth and Adult Guidance, focusing on the application and admission process as well as KAA, and Järfälla Lärcentrum.

The operations at Järfälla Lärcentrum consist of SFI, courses at basic and upper secondary levels in Swedish as a second language, vocational training, and special education at basic and upper secondary levels. Here, all kinds of people meet, with different backgrounds and goals for their studies. We are passionate about providing all adults with new opportunities for education and work.

At any given time, approximately 1,600 students study with us, both full-time and part-time. Our teaching staff consists of about 50 dedicated educators. In addition to these, the school has study administrators, a special educator, and additional study and career counselors.

The school is centrally located in Jakobsberg within walking distance to both commuter trains and buses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main area of work will be to guide our students at Järfälla Lärcentrum. Support students in their development and learning process through both broad and narrow guidance. The work also includes contacts with authorities and other actors, both within and outside the municipality. You will also work with mapping, follow-up of students, individual study plans, documentation, information for groups, and marketing in various contexts. You will be part of a work team that encourages ideas and creativity. Contact with the school's students occurs via phone, email, Teams, as well as both scheduled and drop-in visits.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a qualified study and career counselor with experience in adult education.

You have a genuine interest in meeting students and an individual-centered approach, and you work with a high awareness of your choice of conversational methods and motivational tools. As a person, you are communicative, outgoing, and have good collaboration skills as well as a high digital ability.

You are enthusiastic and structured. You are motivated by results and success and are self-sufficient and confident in yourself and your role.

We further see that you have an interest in developing study and career guidance together with other employees in the unit.

It is meritorious to have:

• experience working with the student registration tool Alvis
• experience with SFI
• experience in Swedish as a second language at basic and upper secondary levels
