Are you our new Systems Engineer in Automation/OT – focusing on Systems and Networks?

Do you want to work with the server and network environment that forms the foundation for our industrial control systems – solutions that keep critical societal processes running around the clock? At Tekniska verken, you will contribute to supporting some of society's most crucial functions, such as electricity and district heating production in combined heat and power plants, production of district cooling, drinking water and biogas, wastewater treatment plants, and distribution control of our deliveries. As a systems engineer in automation, you will be part of a dedicated and knowledgeable team within the OT department (Operational Technology and Automation). With a focus on systems and networks, you will build and secure platforms and OT environments on which the control systems operate, ensuring they are robust, secure, and available. You will work with both strategic and operational issues, focusing on ensuring high availability and safe operation in our production facilities. With varied and exciting tasks, your days will be filled with:

• developing and designing IT/OT infrastructure, including firewall configurations and system documentation
• performing preventive and corrective maintenance of control systems, computers, servers, and network equipment
• troubleshooting and investigating improvements to ensure stable operation
• strategic OT security work (current and future solutions)
• conducting acceptance tests and managing secure remote connections to OT systems
• participating in and driving projects related to system changes and upgrades

The work takes place both practically at our facilities and theoretically in an office environment where you configure, plan, and document. You will not be alone – with support from experienced colleagues, relevant training, and engaged leadership, you will quickly settle into the role and have the opportunity to grow.

You are structured and meticulous with a strong sense of quality and risk awareness in your work. You thrive with responsibility, are curious and solution-oriented, and are eager to take initiatives to improve operations. As a team player, you contribute to a positive work environment and communicate openly and service-oriented with both colleagues and suppliers.

We see that you have:

• post-secondary education such as an engineering degree or vocational training with a technical focus, or equivalent knowledge acquired in professional life that is deemed comparable
• experience in IT or automation: IT background: experience with Windows environments and Microsoft AD and/or IP networks, switches, firewalls, and virtualization platforms
• automation background: experience in programming control systems, drawing process diagrams, and setting up communication in OT environments
• good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• driver's license B

It is meritorious if you have experience in:

• working in process technology facilities
• industrial IT, control systems, and/or automation
• ABB 800xA and Siemens S7
• a strong commitment to working with IT security issues

You may come from the automation field or have a background in IT – for example, as an IT engineer, systems technician, or IT specialist. Regardless, you will have the opportunity to develop in an OT environment focused on industrial control systems where your skills make a real difference.
