Laboratory Technician at Organ

About the Position

At SGS, we analyze environmental samples to protect public health. We investigate whether there are heavy metals in drinking water, cyanide in the soil, or dioxins in pike, and we also examine how much COVID is present in wastewater.

In our Organic department, you will work as a laboratory technician with environmental analyses where GC-MS is a central analytical instrument. The tasks include practical laboratory work and ongoing instrument maintenance. You will become part of a close-knit team with good cohesion and an open collaborative climate. We offer a developing work environment with excellent opportunities to deepen your expertise in analytical chemistry and advanced instrumentation.

You enjoy collaborating both in a group and independently, and you show interest and understanding for others. You have a good ability to make decisions and take responsibility for your tasks. You can take initiative and actively seek improvement in your work. You have a good ability to follow instructions and work according to the organization's guidelines. You are calm as a person and work in a structured and efficient manner even under high workloads. You have a good ability to plan and organize your work and enjoy working within set deadlines. You have good self-awareness and can handle constructive criticism. You find it important to meet customer requirements and needs and are quality-conscious in your work.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of Swedish (at least B2 according to the European reference framework), in both spoken and written form, as our safety regulations are written in Swedish.
  • Higher education in a scientific field
  • Proficiency in Office Suite and IT skills

Meritorious

  • Lean
  • English spoken and written
  • Work experience from laboratory, industry, production, warehouse, or equivalent
  • Experience with LC-MS or GC-MS

Permanent position with a 6-month probation period. Expected start date March 1, 2026.
