Your Role with Us

Support Pedagogue

As a support pedagogue, you will guide and implement pedagogical methods in client-facing work. This includes developing educational materials for staff and you are responsible for the pedagogical work being developed in close collaboration with the unit manager. From a client perspective, you work with values and quality that promote the client's participation, self-determination, and integrity. In client-facing work, you support the workgroup towards a developing working method. You guide colleagues in writing and updating implementation plans. Your work includes continuously updating yourself regarding pedagogical, evidence-based knowledge and informing and guiding the workgroup about this. Furthermore, you work with various types of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) to be implemented in the individual work with the client. Searching, sorting, gathering, and disseminating facts, information, and new findings relevant to client-facing work is also included. It is of great importance to work systematically on pedagogical issues. Like other employees, you participate in the daily tasks at the residence.

Support Assistant

The tasks mainly consist of providing our clients with individual support and developing and maintaining their abilities and communication considering their disabilities. We work to support clients' participation in leisure and cultural activities at all levels - individual, group, and community level. An important focus is to promote clients' self-determination and personal integrity.

The role also includes being responsible for social documentation according to current guidelines and, if necessary, performing medical tasks delegated by a nurse or assisting the client with self-care. As a contact person, you are responsible for ensuring that an implementation plan is established and followed up.

Who Are We Looking For?

Primarily, we are looking for you who are a support pedagogue, and you who are a support assistant are also of interest to us.

Requirements for Support Pedagogue

For the role of support pedagogue, post-secondary specialization in the disability area is required, encompassing at least 200 vocational training points or 60 university credits. The education should have a clear focus on the disability area in its entirety. You have experience working with people with disabilities. It is an advantage if you have experience with social documentation.

Requirements for Support Assistant

For the position of support assistant, approved education from the care and nursing program, children and leisure, or education that the employer finds equivalent is required. Experience working with autism, self-harming behavior, psychotic disorders, or intellectual disabilities is meritorious. You need good knowledge of LSS, be able to handle clients with challenging behavior, and have knowledge/experience of working with low-arousal approaches.

Common Requirements for Both Roles

Since the work requires communication and documentation, we expect you to be computer literate and interested in digital tools and to master Swedish in speech and writing. A B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement.

You have the ability to plan and structure work from a holistic perspective, can make independent decisions while also being able to respect decisions made and can perform work on behalf of others. As a person, you are attentive to the client's needs. You can work both independently and together with colleagues.

This is Us

Nitvägen 16 is an LSS residence for people with cognitive impairments, autism, intellectual disabilities, and self-harming behavior. There are 10 apartments adapted to the clients' needs. Staff work around the clock to support clients in their daily lives.

The care administration's activities are aimed at the elderly and people who need functional support as well as those who need home healthcare. The activities are functionally divided into four areas: support in ordinary housing, support in care and nursing homes, health care, and functional support. The administration also includes the authority unit, national gymnasium, and assistive technology center in Eastern Skåne.
