Statistical Officers at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency coordinates efforts for a good living environment together with others. With us, you can contribute to the important work of achieving our vision - to create a good living environment for humans and all other living beings, now and for future generations!

We are now looking for two officers who want to further develop our work in the field of statistics.

The positions are located at the Environmental Goals and Knowledge Unit, which has a coordinating role within several of the agency's central missions - including environmental goal follow-up, environmental monitoring, data stewardship, and the production of official statistics.

Your Responsibilities

You will work on assignments characterized by broad collaboration and process-oriented analysis. As an officer with us, you will lead complex processes where multiple actors - both within and outside the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency - collaborate to achieve common goals related to environmental data and knowledge bases, which form the core of the unit's work.

One of the officer positions focuses on qualified methodological support within statistics. This position suits you if you have the ability to work with systematic quality assurance in official statistics and other government statistics. You will work on creating qualified methodological support within the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency for various parts of the statistical production process. You will primarily work in a supportive role, but may also work both operationally and strategically in close collaboration with other officers at the agency. You will participate in and support development work to enhance the quality and utility of statistics and support the development of statistical analysis of data and statistics. You will have contacts with other statistics-responsible authorities and organizations to develop national and international statistics for which the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is responsible. In this role, you may be responsible for leading other colleagues in various projects and assignments.

The other officer position focuses on business development for processes within the field of statistics. This position suits you if you have the ability and interest to map and develop the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's processes and information flows for official statistics, other government statistics, international statistics, and international reporting. You will coordinate issues related to statistics and confidentiality for statistical production and identify new cross-functional requirements in laws and regulations that affect statistical production and international reporting. You will investigate whether parts of the statistical process can be streamlined and digitized and drive change work within the field of statistics as needed. You will coordinate meetings with multiple stakeholders within the entire statistical production of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. In this role, you may be responsible for leading other colleagues in various projects and assignments.
