Job Responsibilities

As a psychologist at our reception, we offer high-quality specialist care where we work with different treatment focuses and person-centered in interdisciplinary teams around the patient. As a psychologist, you will have a varied and developing job. Your tasks will include assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients in need of specialist psychiatric interventions.

Your work is independent, and you have great opportunities to develop in your profession as well as contribute to the development of the reception. You will receive good support from others in the workgroup. Our reception in Köping is characterized by good community, accessible leadership, and a strong commitment to the patient. Within the workgroup, there is broad knowledge where your psychological competence is valued. At the reception and throughout adult psychiatry, we work with continuous improvements in the pursuit of a cutting-edge adult psychiatry.

About the Workplace

The Adult Psychiatric Reception serves residents of Köping, Kungsör, and Arboga municipalities. We receive patients who have mood or anxiety disorders, neuropsychiatric issues, psychotic disorders, and who are in need of psychiatric specialist interventions. Here, nurses, doctors, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, caregivers, rehabilitation coordinators, and medical secretaries work together to provide the best possible care for the patient.

The reception is located at Köping Hospital, just a three-minute walk from the train station. Köping is situated on the western shore of Lake Mälaren with commuting distance from other cities in Mälardalen and Örebro.

New as a Psychologist

For those of you who are newly licensed psychologists, we offer a two-year competency package to provide you with a smoother transition between the role of PTP psychologist and licensed psychologist.

The competency package includes:

• work-specific course
• participation in a national/Nordic congress
• observation in primary care, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, or forensic psychiatry (a total of five days)
• opportunity to take a supervisor training in the second year
• personal follow-up by an experienced psychologist

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist with a primary education in CBT. If you have experience working in psychiatry with assessments, evaluations, and treatment, we consider it an advantage. Since you will need to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, relatives, and colleagues, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required.

As a person, you take responsibility for your work. You make correct assessments and prioritize, structure, and drive your processes forward. A workday with us can change quickly, and therefore we see that you have the ability to adapt in challenging situations while maintaining your calm and focus. You have a respectful and good approach towards both patients and colleagues and communicate clearly. Since you will be working in a team, we also see that you have good collaboration skills.
