Nurse at Children's Ward 64
As a nurse with us, you will care for everything from newborns to young people up to 18 years of age. You will have great variation and opportunities for development and broad competence in pediatric care. Caring for sick children can sometimes be challenging, but it is mainly the meetings that bring a lot of joy and hope. We take care of the child and their families, and we take care of each other - because we know that we do a much better job together.
Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you will work to provide good and safe care to our patients. Care is provided in close collaboration with the child and family. With the child at the center, you will be part of a team with staff from various professional categories. As a newly hired nurse, you will always have an experienced colleague at hand.
What our nurses say about the work:
"Ward 64 is the department where you learn a little about a lot. I like that there are varying diseases and conditions, which makes it possible to find what interests you the most, which can otherwise be a bit difficult when you come as a new nurse. Something I appreciated when I started here is the camaraderie among colleagues; everyone is supportive, helpful, and always extends a helping hand when things get tough". Hilda, nurse.
"What I like about working on Ward 64 is that it is a department with many different childhood diseases. We are a good workgroup with an open climate, which makes it easy to ask questions and seek help from each other. Something I appreciated as new on the job and that made me feel secure was that there was always a senior nurse on every shift. There is also always at least one pediatrician on site, which facilitates many situations. The managers are accessible and also work on the floor sometimes, which makes it easy to ask questions and request help when needed". Ofelia, nurse.
"Everyone on Ward 64 strives together to provide children and parents with safe and secure care. The team spirit is evident here, and as a newcomer, you are well taken care of by experienced colleagues". Evin, pediatric nurse.
About the Workplace
The Children's Clinic is like a small hospital within the large one. With us, all the expertise a sick child might need is available.
Children's Ward 64 is a general pediatric care ward with an attached children's emergency department. On the ward, children aged 0-18 years are cared for with varying diagnoses across all specialties. The ward has 15 beds and is divided into three teams. The operation has great variation and includes care for chronically ill children as well as children with short-term and temporary illnesses. We work with the PNV method, patient-centered care.
The children's emergency department cares for patients with acute pediatric medical conditions. The job responsibilities include prioritizing children based on medical needs and performing individually tailored nursing and medical interventions. The workday in the children's emergency department consists of many meetings with our patients and their families. Since the patient's condition can change rapidly, the work is both varied and challenging, requiring the ability to assess and prioritize.
