Brå's mission is to promote crime prevention work through development, research, statistics, and knowledge dissemination, primarily to the government and authorities within the justice system. Our office is located on Fleminggatan in central Stockholm. We currently have about 200 employees.
About the Job
The Unit for Development of Crime Prevention Work (uba) is Brå's unit for knowledge support in crime prevention work. The unit works to coordinate, develop, and strengthen crime prevention efforts at local, regional, and national levels. Several new government assignments require the unit to expand. We are now seeking a number of employees for roles that may involve producing written methodological support as well as providing practical support to develop crime prevention work. The work entails a high degree of shared and individual responsibility for planning, implementation, follow-up, development, and documentation of the work.
Depending on your competence profile, you may receive different assignments within the unit. Examples of tasks may include providing practical support at the local level for the development of crime prevention work in collaboration with other national and regional actors. The work may also involve supporting a national authority in developing its crime prevention efforts. You will also contribute to Brå's general support in crime prevention work by managing financial support, monitoring the environment, and disseminating good practices, for example through conferences or webinars.
In your role, you will have frequent contacts with municipalities and police, and collaborate with other national and regional actors that provide support for crime prevention work.
The job may involve recurring travel. The workplace is Stockholm.
Your Education and Experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- an academic degree in social sciences, preferably with elements of criminology, or police education combined with some academic social science education
- experience in crime prevention work
- experience in process or project work within state, region, or municipality
- very good ability to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you have experience working with knowledge-based crime prevention efforts in state, region, or municipality, as well as having completed any of Brå's training in crime prevention work. It is also advantageous if you have experience leading development work.
Your Personal Qualities
As a person, you are structured and meticulous. You are communicative, pedagogical, have a high ability to collaborate, and can independently drive and complete tasks within given time frames. We expect you to have high integrity, good judgment, and a strong awareness of security. Great emphasis is placed on your personal qualities and abilities.
Employment Conditions
The positions are permanent full-time positions as well as fixed-term full-time positions. For permanent positions, we apply a 6-month probationary period. For all positions, we apply individual salary setting. Start date as soon as possible.
