Digital Creation Educator at Järfälla Culture School

Järfälla Culture School is a unit within the Culture, Democracy, and Leisure Administration that offers courses for children and youth in their free time. We are a dynamic workplace with over 40 dedicated, competent, and creative employees teaching in visual arts, dance, film and media, various music subjects and orchestras, new circus, as well as theater/drama. The administration includes a department head, two unit heads, a coordinator, and a communicator. We have our own facilities in all municipal areas and centrally in Jakobsberg and Bas Barkarby. Many of our facilities are newly renovated or newly built and adapted for the approximately 1500 students in our course activities. We also have commissioned activities (adapted school, daily activities, preschool and school, senior activities) and open activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a digital creation educator at the Culture School, you will:

• Plan and lead teaching and projects in areas such as animation, 3D modeling, game design, VR/AR, digital storytelling, interactive creation, etc.
• Develop new courses and activities in dialogue with students and colleagues
• Collaborate with other culture school educators and internal or external actors to create exciting, interdisciplinary projects
• Work both independently and in teams, with ample opportunity to drive your own ideas
• Work during terms and breaks, including with summer job employees

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in animation, digital creation, 3D modeling, game development, media technology, or equivalent experience or relevant vocational education
• Good knowledge of VR/AR, game engines (e.g., Unity, Godot, or Unreal) or similar creative digital tools
• Pedagogical ability and interest in inspiring young people in their creation
• The ability to organize, lead projects, and collaborate
• An interest and ability to independently acquire and learn new knowledge, programs, apps, and solutions by seeking information through AI, Google, YouTube, etc.
• Either an artistic education with a strong technical interest or a technical education with a strong artistic interest - both to create immersive digital environments

Teaching qualifications/pedagogical education and/or experience in teaching, project management, or work in culture school/school is meritorious.
