The Budget Department plays a central role in the Government Offices and leads and coordinates the government's work on the state budget. We review all government decisions that have fiscal, organizational, and macroeconomic consequences. The Budget Department works to ensure that public funds are used as effectively as possible. Our guiding principles are sound budget discipline, macroeconomic efficiency, and high cost-effectiveness. The department analyzes the efficiency of resource use in society, provides advice on the design of economic policy, and participates in economic policy cooperation within the EU and OECD. We are also responsible for structural issues in the Swedish economy and the EU's public finance system.

We are now looking for a student assistant for the budget department to work in the secretariat for financing new nuclear power. The work includes conducting economic analyses and preparing materials for assessing various financial issues.

The Budget Department is characterized by a strong team spirit. Many of our employees rotate between tasks within the department after a few years, thereby developing both themselves and the organization. Your background

We are looking for someone who is currently studying at a university or college. You should have experience from an internship at the Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance as part of your higher education during the past year. Experience with nuclear financing issues is an advantage.

Your qualities

You have excellent analytical skills, good judgment, and strong communication skills in both spoken and written form. As a person, you are responsible and driven. You are good at collaborating, can quickly familiarize yourself with new issues, and work towards tight deadlines. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We would like you to attach your university transcripts. You do not need to be a Swedish citizen to be employed, but the work requires very good knowledge of Swedish and English.

We offer a temporary position of up to 25% during the spring term of 2026 for a student assistant. A security clearance will be conducted before a hiring decision is made.
