The open preschool in Stureby is looking for an engaged colleague who wants to be part of our important mission.

The position is a part-time job of 75%. The open preschool is an open educational activity and meeting place for families with children aged 0-6 years. Each open preschool has two staff members. The open preschool is an important contact point between the city and its residents and a platform for preventive, promotional, and educational activities for children and parents. The mission of the open preschool also includes collaboration with parent advisors, child health care, libraries, social services, and other actors that can benefit children and parents.

You will be part of the department for Preventive and Promotional Work, Area Promotion, Unit Open Preschool and Park Play. The department currently employs about 100 staff members within Open Preschools, park play, youth centers, field assistants, parent reception, and youth reception, among others. The Unit for Open Preschool and Park Play consists of six open preschools and five park plays, as well as a middle school activity.

Your role

Working as a preschool teacher at an open preschool in Enskede-Årsta-Vantör means, among other things, building good and trusting relationships with visiting parents and other important adults and children. The work also involves conducting and developing a good and inspiring educational activity together with your colleague. The activities are adapted to the needs and wishes present in the area where the open preschool is located, as well as the assignments in the operational plan. As a preschool teacher, you will develop, together with your colleague, an educational, positive, and developing environment where children and parents feel seen and welcomed. The work is based on a value foundation where everyone is welcome regardless of gender, gender identity, origin, culture, and religion, with a focus on equality, children's rights, and LGBTQIA.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• Education as a preschool teacher.
• Extensive experience working with children and their parents/caregivers.
• Good computer skills and digital competence.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Further education in working with families and parents/caregivers, such as ABC 0-2.
• Good knowledge of norm-critical work and gender equality integration.

You are passionate about educational environments, have knowledge and an idea of how you, together with your colleagues, will realize the open preschool's mission and value foundation. Your ability to collaborate is very good, and you are accommodating in your interactions with children, caregivers, and colleagues.

In your professional role, you are engaged, creative, professional, and proactive. You are responsible and structured, with a good ability to plan and prioritize your work effectively. Furthermore, you have a good ability to communicate in both speech and writing. You see the development of the open preschool's activities as a positive challenge. You enjoy inspiring and motivating others, as well as sharing your experiences and knowledge.

As a person, you are social and have a genuine interest in people, and you enjoy networking and creating new contacts. A professional demeanor is of great importance, and you are a reliable, attentive person whom parents/caregivers and children can trust.
