About the job
As a case officer in one of the CSO units, you are part of a dynamic group of colleagues managing support to civil society organizations. You will, among other things, review and assess applications, prepare decision-making materials, follow up on projects, and engage in dialogue with various actors in aid. The operations include support through both Swedish and international civil society organizations and direct support to civil society in developing countries. Through your work, you contribute to promoting democracy, human rights, and human security, and strengthening organizations' capacity and conditions. You will also participate in and contribute to the unit's learning and method development.
You will work at Sida's office in Rissne Sundbyberg. The position is located in the Global Department, which gathers global strategy and intervention management and works based on Sida's various thematic areas.
Responsibilities
The role includes the following main responsibilities:
- Manage interventions including assessment of applications, follow-up and analysis of interventions, and dialogue with partners
- Utilize and develop relevant methods and approaches to support civil society including partners' capacity development, results-based management, and aid effectiveness.
- Prepare materials and engage in dialogue at various levels and with different actors, including other donors.
- Coordinate groups and processes within the unit.
- If necessary, be responsible for contacts with internal and external actors, such as foreign authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the business community and the research community.
- Other tasks as assigned within the unit and department.

Qualifications
Education
- Academic degree in a relevant field for the operations
Language
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Work experience and skills
- Several years of documented experience in international development cooperation, including experience working in developing countries
- Documented experience in case management within development cooperation, including work with budgets and financial reporting.
- Documented experience of working with or in civil society organizations.

For this role, it is advantageous if you have
- Experience in managing support to civil society in challenging contexts
- Experience in policy and method development related to civil society and civil society support
- Experience working with civil society on issues related to democracy, human rights, rule of law principles, accountability, anti-corruption, tolerance, free market and property rights, gender equality, and/or peace and security.
- Experience in innovative interventions within development cooperation, such as support for informal networks and movements as well as support for human rights defenders in difficult contexts
- Experience working in a government agency
- Language skills in French, Spanish, Arabic, or other languages relevant to Sida
Good to know
The position is a permanent employment with a start date in April 2026. A probationary period applies.
Sida offers the possibility of remote work to some extent if it works for the operations.
