Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.

Internationella Engelska Skolan Järfälla is a school for grades 5-9 with 560 students and 65 staff members. IES Järfälla is one of the most established schools in the company, with clear structures, well-functioning routines, and a warm atmosphere. The school is located within a short walking distance from Jakobsberg station.


We are now looking for a qualified and creative teacher in visual arts, textile crafts, and home economics for teaching grades 5-7, starting January 2026. The position is a one-year temporary contract. The teacher we are looking for is passionate about their subjects, maintains good order in their classroom, and has a genuine interest in students' well-being as well as academic development. You will collaborate with colleagues in your subject team to plan creative and inspiring lessons. There is great freedom in our school to try new materials and methods in the classroom. In addition to the subject team, you will also be part of a work team that monitors students' academic development and general well-being. The role includes mentorship for 16 students.


Our student composition is diverse and to succeed in teaching at IES Järfälla, it is important to understand students' different backgrounds and conditions, as well as the ability to adapt and plan your teaching.
